I was born on the plains of South Dakota, where my love for wide-open spaces and the natural environment first took root. In 1994, I graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver with a degree in Commercial Photography. Around that time, I discovered a passion for fine art portraiture and created a traveling exhibition titled Portraits of a Community, which showcased local characters from the Denver and Aurora areas and gained regional attention.

Shortly after, I accepted a photojournalism position at the Vail Trail Newspaper, where over five years I captured everything from sports action to editorial features. My photographs have appeared in The Village Voice, People Magazine, Ski Magazine, and Mother Jones Magazine, and I was represented by Gamma-Liazon Photo Agency in New York. I spent nearly 100 days a year on the slopes and had the privilege of photographing the 1999 World Championships in Vail.

Following this, I transitioned to fashion photography and pre-press production management with XRX Publishing Inc., traveling extensively to New York, Chicago, and Miami. I also contributed to the early graphic design and photography development for American Apparel, the Los Angeles–based t-shirt company. During my time in Los Angeles, I explored a more urban style of photography and rediscovered a love for the ocean.

In 2002, I moved to Sedona, Arizona, where I have spent over 20 years photographing more than 1,500 weddings and events. Wedding photography has allowed me to refine my skills in composition, lighting, and subject direction. I am grateful for the ability to “see” light and anticipate moments as they unfold. I approach each wedding with a journalistic eye, striving to capture the unique and authentic moments that make every celebration unforgettable.
