Located just north of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon. West Fork is the most popular hiking trail in the Coconino National Forest and possibly the most scenic in Arizona. It is a perfect hiking trail and wedding location in all seasons. As you trek along this nearly level, easy trail you are accompanied by the beauty and serenity of shimmering Oak Creek which meanders along the base of steep canyon walls.

PHOTO TIP:

This area fills up fast and there is usually a wait to get in the parking area and loses the sun earlier due to the canyon walls. It is highly recommended to plan to arrive earlier in the day to maximize the light and beat the traffic if possible.

West Fork is wooded and shady with some small creek crossings, so this location works best in the summer months due to the elevation. This area does not have the sweeping red rock views that Sedona is known for as it is located in a secluded canyon. A side trip can be planned to a nearby location for these photos.
